Thanksgiving

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving and had part of my family here to celebrate with us. I had to work both Thursday and Friday, so we were both lucky to have a nice fam that came and prepared the whole Thanksgiving meal while I worked. It was a delicious meal and we all agreed that brining the turkey is definitely the way to go since it was our best turkey we could remember. We took them around Little Rock too, and we saw the bridge over the Arkansas river, a trolley tour of Little Rock, all the cool houses, etc... It was a fun time.

Hot Springs, Arkansas

Travis @ the fab Mexican restaurant Me at the Finish Line!

We just had a great weekend down in Hot Springs, Arkansas and wanted to post some pics and share our fun with everyone. I ran a 10K race down there this morning so we decided last minute to stay down there last night. It's a funny little town that was huge back in the day before the Depression. There are hot springs there (hence, the name :) so people would come from all over and gamble and soak in the hot springs. Then, the Depression hit and the town became deserted. There are amazing old buildings and hotels that need renovating but nothing's been done about it. The hotel we stayed at was built in 1875 and pretty much still looks the same except the walls and doors and everything are now coated in shoddy paint job after shoddy paint job. But we ate the best Mexican food we've had in awhile, had a great time at the race, and had an amazing breakfast at the Pancake Shop that's been there since 1940. The race was pretty much one of the hardest races I've run because we ran through Hot Springs National Park up a mountain for about 3 miles. It was a steep killer hill, but it was beautiful with all the leaves. And yes, Singleton loved being in its first race. :) There was one other pregnant girl in the race and she was 4 1/2 months along, so my boss at work said they should've made a separate group for the pregnant ladies. And fyi, an Asian lady saw me after the race and assured me that the baby is definitely a boy and she can tell, so we'll see how right she is in a few months...

New Blog

I thought we wouldn't have much to say in a blog up until now, so why bother start one, but with a singleton on the way and tons of new things happening to us soon, I wanted to have a spot to post pics and little stories about our life. First will be Travis's dream since we moved to Little Rock has been to attend an Arkansas Razorbacks game in Fayetteville and tomorrow we'll have that opportunity. Someone at Alltel won 2 tickets and couldn't use them so she offered them to Travis and he jumped on the chance. I'm not too excited about working all day and then leaving straight from work to drive 4 hours in traffic up to Fayetteville, but I am excited to see the game and the city and the Autumn drive through the Ozarks on the way. So we'll take some pics and post them soon.
And a few pics of the growing belly for all who are dying to see it.
