So one thing I learned from my sisters when they were here is about babies and stations. Sometimes they just don't want to sleep in their beds and sometimes they just don't want to sleep in their car seats. So they need options; apparently they're called stations. I've been trying to come up with various stations so Sweet Charlie Boy can have some variety and can have good naps during the day. :) So we started out with his mini crib and his car seat but those weren't helping us out during dinner and shower time. So we decided we wanted a bouncer seat and while watching Friday Night Lights, we decided the one Gracie Belle sits in seemed fab. So I researched it and found it and we ordered it. We located one here in Little Rock at a store, but since we wanted Charlie to have the most fashionably-colored bouncy seat, we had to order it online so he could have the black and red version. It seems awesome and hopefully it is. Too bad the company at amazon has taken over 2 weeks to ship so that station still hasn't arrived!
Another station idea is the infamous swing. We were hesitant to get one at first cos they're so big and annoying to store, but I think I found an option that will work out. It's a mini travel swing and it gets pretty good reviews. It folds flat and can store under a bed and it has some good features as well. Anyone used it before?
Another successful station is the Maya Wrap. At first he seemed skeptical of it and was not a fan but lately he's been loving it. It's fun cos he holds his hand on the edge of it and just hangs out or sleeps while I do laundry, sweep, organize, etc... So 3 stations down, more to come... Any other station ideas?

ebay
So I've found a new passion: ebay. I guess it's not new cos I've always loved buying things, but now I'm into the selling side of ebay. All thanks to Sweet Charlie Boy. Late at night when I'm feeding him I get the fire to look online and see what kind of sweet deals I can get on things that I know will sell well on ebay. So then I buy them and sell them for way more. Those people are suckers. Don't they know they could buy it themselves online for less than they're paying on ebay? I'm pleased with the suckers though. Don't tell them my little secret. :) And Charlie Boy likes it because then I'm not just counting the minutes til he's done eating at 3 am. I don't mind if he takes his time and loses his focus now and then. It's a great thing for both of us...

Happy Valentine's Day

Well, we obviously didn't celebrate Valentine's Day with a night out to dinner or anything, but Travis took the day off work and took Sweet Charlie boy so I could take a nap and it was the best Valentine's Day gift I could've gotten. And Charlie even wore a red gdiaper to celebrate the day.

1 Week Old

Sweet Baby Charlie turned 1 week old yesterday! We can't believe it's already been 1 week. He's already getting so much more alert and fun. He even gave us his first smile on Friday which we loved. He is a joy and is such a good baby. He sleeps about 4 hours at a time so he only wakes up twice per night. He definitely is his mother's son and loves to sleep, which we're a fan of. :)

Baby Charlie James Nilsson

He's here and we couldn't be happier and we couldn't love him more. He's amazing. He arrived at 0635 on Sunday morning after a very quick labor. Unfortunately, he never turned so in the end, they had to rush to do a C section--definitely not my first choice. I was disappointed, but at least I got to labor through it all up until the very end and they got him out so quickly he wasn't affected by the epidural at all; it didn't even have time to take full effect on me so it really didn't make it into his system. So that made us happier. We're all doing very well and are just a little sleep-deprived. He was 8 lbs 3 oz and was 21 1/4 inches long. A big happy baby indeed.
